According to some family tree stuff, I’m descended from him! When you get that far back, who actually knows but that family is fascinating.

If I recall correctly, Randall Flagg, the dark man, quotes it too.

There has been a lot of talk on authors being prophetic lately. I think it’s more that we are observant.

That scene has been on my mind a lot lately.

“Things fall apart; the center cannot hold.”

Oh, and in her spare time, she ran for judge, dated a 1950s pop star, has rescued about a million stray animals, and up until recently was still rocking pink hair in her 80s. And still out here working (including through COVID), caring for some of the most vulnerable people in our community.

An Italian transplant from Passaic/NYC to Jefferson, GA, Nonna has lived a thousand lives. Accordion player, newspaper columnist, diner owner, music school teacher, security guard, prison guard, Justice of the Peace (she married my parents!), bad ass nurse, wife, and mother to five rowdy daughters.

My personal fave is any portrait of James I/VI in those billowing, puffy bloomers that made him look like a rich, swaddled manbaby. The Stuarts were all such dorks. I’m obsessed with them.
