I thought my house was bigger, I unpacked one of my larger works to check it before it is shipped to Innsbruck as part of my solo exhibition in the INFF-Innsbruck Nature Film Festival.

I was in London to collect my artwork after it was exhibited in the Royal Academy. Of course this was an excuse to also visit some amazing art including Tate Modern with this flint installation by Richard Long.

Today I sent this work “Thistle” to the Geumgang Pre-Biennale in Gongju South Korea for a Nature Art Cube exhibition. It’s made with thistle seeds, rolled paper for the structure and a lattice made from a sliced watercolour of a thistle. Size: 12x12x12 cm

This is my new Nettle book, the cover is based on a book from 1369 in the collection of the Gruuthusemuseum Bruges. The contents are inspired by the 17th century herbaria in the Royal Library of Belgium.

I had a wonderful day yesterday. I was in the reading room of the Plantin-Moretus library to look at books by Rembert Dodoens, including his “Cruijdeboeck” from 1553. I also include a book image with anonymous handwritten notes, I love the connection with the past…
