In the worst possible way, and sometimes i just ponder what ghost WOULD do given that after suffering severe repeated traumas soap manages to coax out some actual peace within ghost, just for ghost to suddenly and violently have that ripped away from too. The inherent tragedy of it all... :((( 7/7

Ghost in a futile gesture to try to keep him alive? Does price keep him as his LT, knowing that if he cut ghost loose they'd never find his body? Does price rely on his sense of duty to keep him going despite all else?? Idk. I think that in many ways soaps death is irrevokably damaging to ghost 6/?

Soap DIES and it just breaks ghost in a way that both ghost and those around him were both aware of and fully unprepared for. For example, given ghosts passive suicidal tendancies, does price bar him from ops, knowing ghost would come back in a body bag? Does price (some way or another) discharge5/?

And so begins to see some light and joy enter his life again - since despite all efforts, soap's softening of ghost DOES go further than soap, and Ghost is becoming generally more open/happy outwardly. So then, just as ghost is allowing himself to be seen slightly vulnerable (emotionally), 4/?

Anyone who'd try to connect with him on an emotional level. Then enter soap, who somehow wiggles past all of ghosts defenses and now ghost is thawing himself out emotionally, not super willingly, at soaps gentle friendship. As ghost "thaws" he sorta allows himself to be more human than before, 3/?

Must have met and been friendly with who would also subsequently pass away!! Ghosts life is already full of loss what is one more!!! Idk, i wouldnt even say that johnny is his 'sole reason to live' but more like ghost had to become SO numb to loss just to survive each day and also pushed away 2/?

Yes! Huge 'greeting death as an old friend', calm and gentle acceptance of the end, release from the ongoing pain (physical/emotional) of his life sorta vibes. I mean, the mans outlived his entire family and his team previous to 141 (pre-ghost), not to mention all of the single soldiers that he 1/?

(Canon MCD tw) Okay i love this passive-deathseeking behaviour from ghost-it breaks my heart but makes SO much sense. But consider after johnny dies ghost just gets so much worse about his own safety since hes now pretty determined to follow soap into the grave one way or another :( break my own ❤
