Sorry, should have specified that I am Norwegian, and since we basically write danish, we most certainly use æ. Had to do a quick search on names starting with æ in Norwegian, and the only one i found was Ægir, which is widely unpopular. Sorry to any potential Ægirs reading this.

Sideræl sounds especially bad, as ræl could be translated to trash or scrap. Giving the «name» the meaning of side trash. I guess they like Nordic letters, but naming your kid trash..

Surprisingly, I can not think of a word for this in Norwegian. We do however have the word neglesprett (nail bounce), that feeling of the nails popping off once the warmth returns to your extremities 🥶
