This book touched on a lot of themes I love to devour. I wish it had more depth, because the narrative felt rushed and complex problems seemed to evaporate just to tidy up the happy ending. A great “brain candy” book with a good message.

The Last House on Needless Street by Catriona Ward
Extremely disturbing and full of twists and turns. I didn’t love the ending, it fell a bit short for me as though the loose ends weren’t properly resolved - but it was the kind of book I refused to put down.

The Priory of the Orange Tree, Samantha Shannon
This book was very long and very dense. Most of those details paid off, and they made the world feel richer and more realistic. I am actually a little sad there isn’t more with these characters??

The Temple House Vanishing by Rachel Donohue
This book was NOT. IT. This was so close to being a DNF but I really try not to DNF. It felt like a good idea that was not fully baked before publishing. Super didn’t appreciate the lackluster attempt at queer representation.

God of Endings by Jacqueline Holland
I’ve read a lot of vampire fiction and this is easily one of the most interesting takes on the genre. I finished this a week ago and I can’t stop thinking about it - immortal or mortal, what do you want to do with your life?

I wasn’t meant to have volume 😭

It’s been a couple days since I finished this, and I’m still reflecting on it. This book felt like an incredible exploration of so many forms of oppression and resistance. I learned a lot, some of which I’m not sure how to put into words yet.

This book takes a long time to gain momentum. There are several POVs and a lot of time is spent recapping what we’ve already learned from previous chapters. I loved the last 1/4, which felt so thoughtful and tees up the next book perfectly.

This book was honestly a little too steamy for me. Loved the plot and the intention, but for the love of god do not read this in public like I did
