Ask yourself this: do you show up for your community when a loved one passes? How? What does that look like? Don’t you donate money, food, resources without being asked? Consider showing up for your living, high-risk comrades in the same way while you still can.

I love y’all, and I appreciate the sentiment and kind words, but “let me know if I can help” is not enough anymore. Find ways to help and show up unprompted. Just having to reach out and ask for help feels so scary and risky right now. I don’t want to feel alone surrounded by people.

How about offering to find the information we need for us so we don’t need to compromise our data? How about offering rides to your Q & T friends that you know walk everywhere? How about feeding us - because we’re using all our energy to try to survive - and food is the last thing to worry about?

How about adding pronouns to your profiles, email signature, whatever, to help us blend in? How about calling your elected officials and expressly mentioning what they’re doing to us? How about connecting us to lawyers, social workers, security agents you know? How about offering free labor?
