I spent 20 minutes being very still (meditating?) in the wildlife blind and 11 minutes in, I saw two bobcats, one growling low to summon the other. They are not pictured here because by the time I got the phone out they’d slipped away.

I picked up Sierra Nevada Pale Ale on a whim at the coop, haven’t had it in years. Malty, bitter, classic west coast beer.

The joy of my life: a bowl of hot rice cereal cooked with apples and prunes, with oat milk, yogurt, a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of cane sugar.

Is there anything better than a sandwich halfway through a hike? No. I’ve been so much more enthusiastic about hiking since moving to New England and realized it’s because these hikes are at a lower elevation than mountain hikes in the Northwest!
