We started #SB62 in Bonn demanding an end to the #genocide
@oxfaminternational.bsky.social is asking:
- a Global Mechanism for Just Transition
- increase public funding mostly in grants
- Tax the richest and biggest polluters
- Provide finance at scale for #Adaptation and #LossandDamage

The #UK cannot pretend to be a global leader on climate and then do nothing. Communities devastated by climate chaos and poorer countries moving away from fossil fuels are entitled to much more grant-based public finance. The good news? It's possible if you make polluters pay!

#COP29 ended with a terrible deal on #ClimateFinance adopted in a terrible way. Rich countries once again had it their way at the expenses of marginalised communities. And now they are spinning it as a 1.3 trillion deal which is not. But we won't give up. #MakeRichPollutersPay

We didn't need 3 years of negotiations and 2 weeks of #COP29 to get a proposal that only meets the wishes of rich countries. With it, rich countries are abdicating their #HumanRights obligations.
