I feel like Bakugo would scoff at Kiri for going up against him with nothing but Eevee, Gabite, and maybe Dratini and/or Deino. He beats kiri, but he keeps coming back, determined to get the fire badge. (And maybe see the pretty gym leader)

Aaa that would be great! I would love to see maybe Kiri going to fight the fire gym and meeting gym leader Baku and shenanigans ensue!
