Emacs has its own analog of treesitter, a parser library taking grammatical descriptions, called the Semantic Bovinator that along with sidebar and a code browser whose name I forget and projectile made up the a loose Emacs Development Environment.

(It can use treesitter, too.)

Oh my gosh, Emacs really is the best ereader and the beast PDF reader. Navigation Just Works (once you configure it) in the treemacs sidebar, you can bookmark stuff, link to passages in org-mode.

I also don’t like how springy and elastic most flirt wands are. Elasticity is nice and all, but I feel like a stiff wand and string with a good length to it lets you have a lot more control and ‘play’ in the feather, while the trends toward elasticity makes it a lot bouncier.

In my experience, 90% of the time when my emacs install quits working, it’s because I have some package from nine years ago installed that I forgot about.

(Like now, when the `irony-mode` I haven’t used since before the pandemic was suddenly screwing up `lsp-mode`)
