The best coaches/teams have well-developed approaches in both phases. That is difficult and rare, however.

I think this applies to Guardiola as well. He uses possession to control and suffocate, which is a fundamentally different approach to someone like Klopp. The "Red Bull" pressing philosophy is a great example of front foot approach that prioritizes pressing rather than possession.
