Every dollar we spend (or not) is a nudge toward the society we want to live in. I'd like to live in a society where media conglomerates don't fold like paperdolls in the face of an authoritarian bully.

I'm not sure full numbers are being reported for #NoKings. We had 76 register, 31 check in, but 150+ in reality. Ages 10-93. A tiny RED town in rural WA, population 2,100!

Sign game strong at #NoKings Westport, WA. Protesteres age 10 to 93. Even the dogs got in on the chanting. And on the way home we saw a bear.

I kept saying, “I wish somebody would do a #NoKings protest in Westport. Then I remembered: “Oh. Crap. I’m somebody.” This is a tiny town in a red county, but I thought a few folks might show. Today, 150 strong, ages 10 to 93, we marched with joyful resolve. Moral of the story: Be somebody.

In LA we see a trumped up reality TV runup to martial law. In DC we see a dictator-style parade. We the People stand between our democracy and a petty tyrant who needs to be a king because he doesn't know how to be a president. Wake up. Stand up. Show up. It's #NoKingsDay in America.

This group of senior citizens marched 2.7 miles from the lighthouse to the harbor, talking about Civil Rights in the '60s, Viet Nam in the '70s, AIDS in the '80s. We've seen peaceful protest bring real change. Can't sit this one out. #handsoff
