Finally, we lead to today where I am now on V6 of the full idea stage, which includes most of the instrumentation, although there are a few more that I am playing around with, and then it is onto final recordings then mixing then mastering. Which is a fun task to do as it makes the song sound right!

It wasn't until recently (1/11/24) when I picked it back up after playing this chord progression on my keyboard and singing what would become the chorus. Within the night, I had the skeletal structure of what the song would be, I was just missing the 2nd verse and a full instrumentation passthrough.

I kind of just sat with the idea in the back of my mind, until I wrote this version of the verse, which I think while it wasn't the right vibe, still had a inkling to show where I was headed with this song, since I knew it wasn't gonna be a light one from the get go. It just had dark undertones!

This track started life as one line that came to me while I was on a walk one day, I just stood in a field and in the moment thought, "I'm going nowhere". Which while I didn't mean it literally, it was a nod to how I felt at the time, which was that my mental health wasn't improving afterall.

the game is developed in gamemaker and has the concept that the light slowly kills you, where as the dark is the safety area

i know, very emo
