Yona Sabri Ellon opened the scoring from the penalty spot (his fifth goal of the tournament) before captain Martin Ladu Paul added two more to seal the victory.

On scoring South Sudan's first ever international goal in blind football, striker Yona Sabri said: “It shows the whole world that South Sudan does well at inclusive sports, where no one should be left behind because of disability.”

In their opening matches, the team delivered outstanding performances — winning 3–0 against Uganda and 2–0 against Zimbabwe. The victories mean South Sudan has earnt a place in the Division 1 African Championship, bringing them one step closer to the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.
