The UK with it's first past the post voting system means that a party like Reform can take the reins of power on a smaller percentage of the vote. The EU is wary of the fragility of UK constitutional politics.

For the uninitiated, the Good Friday Agreement 1998 is overseen by the ECHR.

And the only way for the UK to exit that agreement is if the NI SoS calls a border poll, which is held in both North & South of Ireland and voters decide for reunification.
