In the end we decided to ignore her. Yes, I know it sounds strange, I know it's hard, because sometimes she can meow for 15 minutes without stopping. But any sign from your side, whether it's verbal, that you're touching her, is attention and the cat has achieved its goal and will do worse

We honestly thought that maybe we couldn't handle her energy level and maybe it would be an idea to get another cat for her to play with, interact with, but even there it's a lottery. They can get along or they can hate each other and then behave even more strangely towards us.

I'm sorry you're going through this :(. Our cat also has nights when she meows literally out of nowhere. She shows no signs of illness, pain, or discomfort. I've been looking for explanations from people who understand and interpret cat behavior.
