The National (conservative) government of New Zealand has banned greyhound racing with a plan to adopt out the dogs now in the system. It is possible to have a conservative government do socially good things we're just so used to the extreme evils of the GOP that is doesn't seem possible.

Few things in life are as nice a surprise as being on a road trip and stumbling on a roadside book stall. Just an old lady who loves reading and figured she may as well sell them too so it looks like she's working. Brilliant life strategy.
