Depends on the brush, but my experience is synthetic brushes will always end up hooking. As such, it may be best to consider them “expendable items” and buy cheaper synthetic No 2’s for larger areas and keep your better brushes for fine details. Just one opinion though 😊

I’ve always thought the Wallace Collection was one of the best hidden gems in London. Used to love going there when I was an undergraduate studying in London.

Do you know what? I think you are right!!! I think I’ve put them on the wrong way round 🤦

Did I mention it’s my first plane build 😂😂

Thanks mate. I opted not to take pictures of water-like paint running down the fuselage on my first pass 😂 Thankfully I primed with Mr Hobby surfacer, so wiped off the acrylic, changed the settings / paint mix and tried again. It’s VERY different to my old Iwata but starting to get the feel of it.

Hi, it’s a technique where you protect an undercoat (say an aluminium paint) with hairspray, then paint an acrylic coat over the top and then weather (chip) it with water and a stiff brush / toothpick to reveal the layer underneath. Well, that’s the theory!

Thanks Twai 👍

Yes, several undercoats of Vallejo New Wood. I let it cure for 24 hours. Not sure what happened but it’s all a learning process 😊

In a related note, anyone want some hairspray? 😂😂
