Terrific clinic retreat including Pittsburgh trivia contest - stumping us all on Punk Rock band from PGH in the 1970s-1980s. Breakout groups helped redesign exam rooms to allow providers to face towards patients when on computer. @pittgim.bsky.social

@upmc.com kneel for George Floyd, racial justice. 5 years out, the group has shrunk but is still filled with spirit. We cannot forget our country’s legacy of slavery, Jim Crow and mass incarceration.

Last day of Black History month posting- books that bring to light the legacy of slavery and continued systemic racism- Horse is a great read focused on an enslaved groomsman and his champion racehorse Lexington in Civil War and the 21st legacy including the danger Black men still face.

For Black history month and to elevate dialogue on systemic racism, I am posting thought provoking books to understand systemic racism. James McBride’s poignant novel about relationship between a Jewish family and a Black community weaves antisemitism and racism and redemption together.

Continuing to post for Black History Month and elevating dialogue on systemic racism. This eye opening account of how the justice system is biased against Black individuals is a must read. Slavery->Lynching->Jim Crow->mass incarceration. Visit @eji.org in Montgomery if you can.
