It’s been eighty years since the end of WWII. Eighty-one years ago, my father was in the US Army, in Europe and in conditions I can’t even imagine. He died many years later, the same day my son was born. He died before having to hear an American President say he didn’t know if he had to uphold the Constitution that my father was defending all those years ago. I hope my son always lives in a world where the sacrifices the Allies made to win WWII are honored, and Americans always believe in upholding the Constitution.
