Wendy Brown's work, like in _Undoing the Demos_, is very accessible. My students always resonate with her.

And my latest book, which is weirdly being bought by ordinary people, also has a pretty accessible view of how we can do democracy in a time of climate change. If you look at women doing democratic theory, instead of men doing political philosophy, there's a lot out there!

I think @astra.bsky.social 's book, _Democracy May Not Exist But We'll Miss It When It's Gone_, does a great job bringing together the view of democracy that I think is most important for ordinary people
