That is a very good point. Thank you.

This feels like one those "just because you can, doesn't mean you should" situations. What benefit is there to disrupting evolution in this way?

It's been going on for decades, glad to see regulators finally opening their eyes to see what is going on. How many decades will it take for them to do something about it?

If you don’t already, you should follow Adam Fein (Drug Channels). He routinely talks about 340B and has covered Apexus and its parent company Vizient several times. Even if you don’t agree with Adam’s positions, he does cover the topic (and others related to HC dollar flow) in detail.

Unless you want to read all the reply alls for entertainment value you could check to see if your email service has filters that let you automatically delete messages in the chain (eg filter on the subject of the email).

It was over the first time anyone said a company was too big to fail. That’s not how capitalism should work.

NYT should be next for people to abandon.

If insurance companies didn’t exist then doctors and other health care providers would compete on price.

Why has the CEO murder gotten so much more press time than the two mass shootings that have happened since?
I’m not condoning shooting anyone. I think it’s terrible. However our media and political leaders have clearly decided one CEO life is worth way more than dozens of others.

We have spent decades teaching these kids what to do when their life is on the line in school. A place that should be safe. Why are we surprised when someone is killed on the street, more a typical place for danger, and they yawn?

There are also drugs that need a DME reimbursed device to be administered. Insulin for use with pumps as an example.

Will have to read up. Hopefully it also balances insurance company leverage in the discussion.
December 18, 2024 at 8:59 PM
Having negotiation leverage has been the biggest driver of consolidation on provider and insurer side. It has also been a big driver of private MD groups selling to big systems. Meanwhile patients are stuck navigating big behemoths to get care.

Meanwhile we will all suffer

The far right have already started a "conspiracy" that the Biden Admin will launch a pandemic to "ruin" Trump's presidency.

Unless any of them were CEOs, people will forget about this by the morning.

I wonder how many people didn’t show up to vote in those states

Lawmakers were warned these mergers and growth would be a problem over 15 years ago. They did nothing. Now that the system is almost beyond repair, they’re concerned.
December 17, 2024 at 1:05 AM
The only magnificent thing these kids should be doing is learning.
December 17, 2024 at 1:00 AM
There will never be an end to this madness. We have chosen to sacrifice the lives of children to maintain our right to keeping guns everywhere.

The response from the principal is ridiculous.
December 17, 2024 at 12:59 AM
Yes. People assume that because we have “almost no polio” or whatever disease that we don’t have to worry. Or that for some “it’s just a cold”. We have lost all sense of community helping each other

If it were only those that choose not to vaccinate that would be fine. Let Darwinism take care of them. But so many others can’t be vaccinated for health reasons and they’re at risk.

I am honestly curious to see whether the lawsuits against employers under CAA will push employers to demand more from insurance co.
December 14, 2024 at 2:48 PM
Totally agree. One can ask if it’s not an employer’s HR for picking the insurance co. It can be endless. It would be much more productive to channel this into a push for reform. There are good people inside these orgs that try to make it better and need support.
