I don't know how much this applies in English, but I find that a much better gauge for whether something was generated instead of written is if the text sounds kind of like it was written in a different language and then run through a translation app

The fundamental thing is that the LLM can't make anything *new*, it can only staple together existing data in what might pass as a relevant answer to whatever you asked it. You're going to see a lot of real writing that has those building blocks because that's where it got them from

If something is a frequently used technique in the training data - i.e. the stuff stolen from real people - that makes the odds of that thing being reproduced by the word gacha machine higher. It's the same thing as artists whose works were used as training data being accused of looking like genAI
