I agree, He's always been fatuous IMHO.
December 13, 2025 at 2:38 AM
Inskeep I just can't with you.
December 13, 2025 at 2:36 AM
That is the question. And many self-identity as Christian.
December 11, 2025 at 11:09 PM
Oh. Ffs, come on. This is ridiculous.

My parents took in a friend of mine for 2 years in high school after her dad kneeled on her chest and banged her head on a cement floor. Walked the walk.

At 65, I'm not super interested in dating. But some of my friends still are. And they find most unpartnered men in their age group have just these issues. Plus, so much generalized anger and bitterness.

When my mother-in-law took me to the Marin farmers market at Christmas, she apologized that the winter market wasn't very good. Me, an East Coast girl, wanted to weep.

That was oddly joyful

I get that fashion is fashion, but that is a truly ridiculous object to strap to your body.

Just got into a big convo about this with piracy supporters on Dreyer's thread on the subject, and let's just say my viewpoint as a librarian was not appreciated. Apparently, I don't understand being broke and wanting to read books. I do, but I also want authors to be paid for their work.

Modern christofascists: taking Christ out of Christianity one stupid statement at a time.
November 28, 2025 at 1:18 PM
But, perhaps, it is life advice I should be given. Sigh.
November 27, 2025 at 12:08 PM
Or maybe I like to pay authors who then can continue to write the books I like. You do you, I'm done here.
November 26, 2025 at 5:46 PM
And, in my mind, cheating a hard- working author of some kind of payment is a crime. Ok, I'm done now.
November 26, 2025 at 1:45 PM
Libraries don't charge fees for check outs..
November 26, 2025 at 1:37 PM
Either way, the author gets paid which they need and deserve. Also, books and media are too different to compare effectively.

And, libraries make money? News to me. Where can my library get in on that?
November 26, 2025 at 1:35 PM
Notice the word library in my handle. Just saying.

Most libraries buy a packet when they buy electronic media that allows for a specific number of checkouts, and the item is no longer available when that number is hit. For super popular titles they buy a more expensive unlimited version.

I WANT my nurses to be professional, and I am deeply sorry this is being denied them.
November 26, 2025 at 4:30 AM
Piracy generally involves online access. The same online access you have to your library's digital collection which is extensive, free and also accessible online. So I am a bit confused by your stance.
