Always looking for funky. Always looking for groovy. Throw in a dash of punk and metal. Put it all together and it’s a cornucopia cacophony! But keep them separated and that’s where the magic lies.
Costs more to ship from Brazil than Japan. But so worth it.

Oh my goodness. The best soundtrack I've run into in a looooong time. Very Goblin-esque with a great theme.

Take a listen.

Been wanting a copy of this for years. Finally bit the bullet. Op is way out of price range so nice that #sonorama reissued a double LP with the unreleased second album too. Superb jazz with incredible flute action.

And cool thing about the cover. It’s a poster! Comes in plastic sleeve and just put it in the middle.

Mail day!!! 5 records arrived on same day. Don’t think I’ve ever had that many line up especially coming from 3 different countries. So many good ones. Here is just a fantastic soundtrack collection from 70s Japan. I’ll post the rest later.

Link is to the cd version, has a lot more than the record.

I'm not a complitest, but I think I will get there with this series. I already posted II, but the entire series is en fuego, or better stated, em chamas.

Couple links below.

Got this several years ago after a YouTube dig. One of those albums that needed to grow on me a bit, but man did it ever.
It’s a re-issue comp which has all the Gatti songs from the original 2-LP record plus a couple others not on the OLP.

What is it with Estonia? So much crazy good music. Maybe it’s the “hide from the Soviets or be jailed or murdered” vibe. Anyway, here is Jaan and the top soloists of his day absolutely crushing on this best of album.

Just moved to a new town in mid 90's. Met someone who had this on a blank tape. They knew nothing about the band but the name. 5 Style. Took me fucking years to dig up who this was and how to get this album.

Fantastic instrumental group on Sub Pop. Only album released on vinyl. Highlights below.

Looks scary but is quite nice, actually. One of those albums I discovered in the halcyon heyday of Blogger music blogs in the 2000's.

Fun instrumental disco-y album with some fantastic dual guitar work. Both funky and groovy. First 2 tracks from album linked below.

What a fantastic album. Alan Tew fucking crushing it. So many great songs and just a fantastic vibe throughout.

Link below is to the full album in play list mode.

If you are of a certain age you will recognize "The Heist" as the theme song to another classic TV show.

Mustache.

Saw this in a local shop a while back. Grew up with the pistols, but hadn't paid attention for years. Shop owner labeled it as "studio outtakes?". That sounds interesting. I'll take it.

Lo and behold, something special from Malcolm himself.

It doesn't have the track information like who the artist is or what album is the track from.

Second album from band in Norway. All about the 80's. Couple highlights below.

One an original tribute song to Talking Heads using only song titles as lyrics. The other is about Molly Ringwald. Discuss.

Found them in a youtube dig years ago. The Dutch have their claws in me. Not my usual bag, but the second listen was driving home from a snowboard day during a snow storm. It was...interesting.

Links to youtube and spotify below. Both are the CD release song order from 1989. The LP order is better.

I won this poster at the local amusement park throwing darts at stars. I was 7, maybe 8. When I saw it on this cover I had to investigate. So glad I did. Such a good album. Fender Rhodes a plenty once again. Great grooves. Oh my.

Couple great songs from the album linked below.
