My absolutely favourite part of my job as a casting assistant is connecting with people and giving them a comforting calm moment in a stressful situation

Revisiting German children's/folk songs is like. Okay this one's racist. This one's straight up nazi propaganda. This one's a metaphor for rape. Ah, racism. Nazi propaganda. This one seems-ah no, there it is. Of course.

Having specific social hang ups is so funny cause I love networking and going to networking events but start sweating when I even think about inviting people I like over for a game night

Having "freeze" as your fear response is so stupid I have been lying on my bed for like an hour instead of just getting dressed and going to the office

The scaling of Sudoku sucks because I can solve an easy one in like 90-200 seconds but a medium one takes me at least 30 minutes to like. three hours. I feel like there should be a step inbetween. I have yet to ever solve a hard Sudoku.

The Final Rose is, all in all, a pretty good movie but I might forever be haunted by how badly written the seven year old daughter was who at one point asked her mother on the phone: "Are you in the TV, Mommy? When will they let you out?"

The problem with getting more into silent films is that you become painfully aware of the magnitude of early 20th century culture we have lost because films wasn't considered something to preserve.

Sometimes I forget that some ppl genuinely think Mike Flanagan makes good horror and that's why he gets to make more mediocre to bad horror

One underdiscussed aspect of Mubi is the international availability. Obviously the service doesn't work in every country and has different offers based on location due to copyright etc, but it still made international cinema available on a scale never really seen before.

Ginger Rogers is my favorite comedic co-star for Cary Grant and I seem to be one of the only people in the world with that opinion

Did u know that in many of his black and white films, they lit Cary Grant differently so he would look less tan?

so interesting how so much 2010s queer cinema is about yearning and repressed desires, both in a coming of age context and in an adult context - in the 2000s, you had a lot more inconsequential queer comedies

It was rly fun btw, met someone I knew and we just talked about Grant's filmography for like 20 minutes before the movie started and at the end screen a group of friends in the front row started clapping and cheering
About to see one of my favorite Cary Grant movies on the big screen 🥰🥰🥰
