But Jungkook is unmoved. “Do you want me to order us dinner?” “Dinner?” Jungkook looks nonplussed. Uncertain, hesitant, confused. It stands to reason that he would be – last time Yoongi tried to do a good deed, they made out in Yoongi’s car and he gave Jungkook a hickey big enough to be noticed at close range. But Jungkook is wearing a roll neck today and the love bite would have faded by now. Stupid, to wonder at how mottled Jungkook’s skin would have become; whether it would have been a combination of purples and yellows and blues, clashing violently against Jungkook’s skin, or whether it would have been more muted, calmer. Not Yoongi’s prerogative to know.

A short summary of my yoonkook fanfic 'Feverish'. The text reads: “Sure, Jungkook-ah,” Yoongi says, indulging him. It doesn’t normally roll over Jungkook in a lick of heat like it does tonight. Jungkook’s natural touchiness for Yoongi tips over into something else one evening when they’re all drinking, and he’s unable to resist. What sparks in Jungkook after is like kindling to a flame.

A snippet of a yoonkook fest fanfic for work in progress Wednesday. The snippet reads: “Can I talk to you?” Can Jungkook deny a direct order from a superior? He certainly wants to. He wants to tell Yoongi that he’d rather swallow his whole fist than speak to him; would rather pierce his eyes out with nails, or something equally macabre and violent. He’d rather walk on hot coals than make the journey to Yoongi’s office. He says, hesitantly, “Can it wait?” Colleagues side eye him, wondering what kind of suicidal act he’s pulling by being deliberately wilful. Nam-hyuk has his eyes glued to the scene. He can hardly believe his luck at the juicy bit of drama being plated up in front of him; Jungkook the newbie is squaring up to the big boss; Jungkook the newbie is refusing a direct order; Jungkook, the newbie, is telling Yoongi what he thinks of his time, which is that it’s worthless. This is what he’ll recount to others with barely contained glee later, Jungkook’s sure.

Surely they’d be able to hold on to some of the family-business ethos he loved, even if they were being subsumed into a cold corporate giant. But all morning, the only familiar face he’d seen was Mimi from merchandising, who seemed to be doing a much better job of adapting to the new company than Namjoon.

not strictly WIP Wednesday but I wanted to share another snippet of my yoonkook fest fic. currently at 40k words and counting. I'm very excited to share this when the time comes!
Jungkook learns through a helpfully placed booklet on the kitchen countertop that there is a gym, and is glad he has packed his workout clothes. It gives him an opportunity to flee from the room, leaving Yoongi to set up his laptop on the table and pointedly ignore Jungkook. They hadn’t exchanged a word since Benjamin left them to it, and Jungkook didn’t know what was more stifling: the humidity of Taipei, or Yoongi’s insistence to pretend they weren’t in a predicament. Jungkook can take the sofa, but he’ll still have to awkwardly shuffle to the ensuite to get changed, while Yoongi is right outside. It makes him want to shrivel up on himself. And Yoongi will have to do the same; to shuck off that blazer, to unknot his tie and to unbutton his crisp, ironed shirt, to toss it to one side, his shoulder blades flexing as he enters the shower – Unhelpful thought. Very bad thought.

happy WIP Wednesday! here's a short snippet of a fest fic I'm working on at the moment.
text reads: Yoongi rubs a hand over his face. He’d planned on spending most of his day in his office and then stealing out without looking at anyone. He knows that getting into these kinds of moods cannot justify poor behaviour, but he feels inexplicably run down, worn down, weary, and doesn’t fancy getting into a conversation where he has to grovel for being harsh. But he’d also be feeding into the image of the untouchable, biting, cutting CEO, a reputation which he does not want to garner. So Yoongi says, “Fine. I’ll apologise to him. You can bring him in here.” “No, you go out there,” Jimin says. His boot continues to drum against the floor. He knows what he’s asking. “What kind of power imbalance is that, ordering someone in to say sorry?” “Jimin, I am the CEO,” Yoongi reminds him. Forgetting, of course, that this means very little to Jimin. Jimin will work for Yoongi as long as their passion and joint belief that they’re building something holds, but he won’t work for Yoongi if Yoongi behaves like an enormous asshole day in, day out. In a way Jimin is his litmus test for how well Yoongi is conducting himself: he holds Yoongi to account if Yoongi lets his standards slip.

He’s been deliberating enough in his head about how he might broach the topic – being declared a prophet in front of the entire pack, who bore witness and can’t claim ignorance – but his courage continues to fail him. No more so at moments like these, where he’s loath to disturb the intimacy of the moment that settles over them like a featherlight blanket. “Yoongi-hyung,” he starts, and Yoongi reaches up with a hand to brush against his cheek. “You’re so gorgeous,” Yoongi murmurs, the pad of his thumb stroking Jungkook’s left cheek. “And you’re all mine.”

Snippet from Far From Home, ch5 of a yoonkook fanfiction. Text reads: Yoongi leans in, disturbing the sheets, and presses his nose to Jungkook’s neck. Jungkook clamps his tongue between his teeth, determined not to moan. It’s not - it wouldn’t be right, with everything that’s happened tonight. But Yoongi has kept his distance for so long that Jungkook is revelling in it, the light, reverent touch of his fingers and the press of his nose against Jungkook’s neck. It has all the uncertainty of an encounter with a first boyfriend, the gentle press of skin to skin, and Jungkook is dizzy with it. He smells Yoongi’s scent sharpen as Yoongi nudges his nose against Jungkook’s neck. Jungkook notices then that Yoongi is hardly breathing.
