This doesn’t look that big, but when you’re in the water it looks and feels like you’re trying to flip a mountain. I don’t think the the survivors were “in the fight.”

That just strikes me as a pretty typical way for squids to behave.
I would lay even odds that he meant it as equally in his face & sincere respect for an old enemy.

My greatest concern is that it may have made its way into the active duty culture at this point. The guys at the point of the spear didn’t seem to have a problem.
And the admiral’s alleged justification for the second strike was…I’m no lawyer but I believe the phrase is Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs.

Senator King said standing up to Trump didn’t work. On a hunch I looked & none of them appear to have served. It may not be the only way but it teaches us to do hard things.

My wife has the same opinion of me. I do a lot of work on myself. I hope it helps. Of course it’s not the kind of anger which results in threats or violence so it’s easier to get away with. It’s much more subtle to the untrained eye. It just seems like some of it seeps out.

Right. I think retirement has zero to do with it. I’m retired. The oath still applies. It’s not beyond the realm of possibility that I will be ordered to renounce it someday and swear a new one to a person.
