I delete old posts regularly; nothing sinister, just tidy. If you don’t look like a real person interacting in good faith, I’ll block you.
The beauty of Jiffy mix is that a box makes six, and the tragedy is that the muffins taste like Jiffy mix.

Are those bacon-wrapped potatoes? Or sausages? Either way, no one in my family will care about the bird with those on the table!

My uncle was still doing it until he moved into the nursing home!

Has it been discontinued? I have noticed that a lot of unscented products are being dropped (e.g. SoftSoap hand soap).

This triggered a flashback to the loaded potato skins at Bartley's Burger Cottage. Ah, youth...

"Metaverse Georg" lives in a cave with a lot of spiders.

The rabbit actually speaks in an adult male voice? That's an interesting choice for a child's toy; I'd expect something squeaky or at least sweeter-sounding (high-pitched).

Waymo ran up their mileage for their bogus safety statistics by driving around the same blocks in quiet outer San Francisco neighborhoods all. night. long.

That's early! Any idea what the wattage of the bulbs was? I see that Edison's 16-watt bulb was an 1880 patent, so that glaring light was not so by our standards, though the whiteness was novel. I assume the Japanese lanterns fitted with electric lights were the big ones in front of the boxes. Pretty

You have pretty much the same internet I do, and I'm only seeing references to potato being used in pastry during WWII due to flour rationing. The results seem more like empanadas or knishes than a puffy pastry. I will look in the eastern European cookbooks later...

FYI, that was removed in 2014, to the shame of BART. "Legs," piece by Barbara Shawcross, was cleaned about twice in the years after it was hung in the 1970's, which very much detracted from its appearance. It was originally orange and looked like flames or light pouring through the station.

As recently as the 90's, flying, bars and restaurants, and just walking through a store were miserable in most places. As I sorted laundry the other day, I was thinking about how washing cigarette smoke out of my clothes used to be a routine multi-load-a-week motivator.

I love Leiber, but off the cuff I would counter that Vance and Cabell wrote the deep-background fantasy that, while incorporating elements from tradition and from other authors, built original, new mythologies. Leiber was a fine writer no question! Fafhrd & Grey Mouser fall into the Howard lineage.
