I had never heard of The Patriot Post, although it tells me that it is "highly acclaimed" and "the nation's leading digest of conservative news and opinion" (no external sources listed for that information). But it is the first defense of the traditional Thanksgiving story that I found. The following stories are accounts of Halloween propagated by conservative Christians as fact, culled from various places on the internet. I make no claims as to the veracity of any of this, but I will make every effort to prove them true. As any good scientist can tell you, I cannot prove absolutely that any of these things did not happen.

I am performing a developmental edit on a story by a friend in which the protagonist is a drug addict. As an addict myself, in recovery, I know a little about the subject, but not about this particular drug. I also have a personal interest in making sure the story is told accurately and does not misrepresent addicts. My friend the writer did his research, but it was clinical in nature.

Around 2011, or maybe late 2010, I downloaded this audio file of the interview of an evangelical preacher (as I recall, a D.Div. or Th.D. or some kind of Bible college doctor) on the "True History and Meaning of Halloween." This is the second and final post in the Search Engine Test 2.0, using the keywords spacetime expanding. I wanted to try a science-specific search site, and Science.gov, as a government site, seemed a good place to start. The results are a little unexpected in a couple of ways, but unsurprisingly much more technical than I need or can readily comprehend.

I decided to reconstruct Jessamyn West's research trajectory in Miss Crabb: librarian and poet because I wanted to learn from the best.
