I think when it comes to P’s idea of sacrifice, it doesn’t work. The Girardian focus on killing/violence as the operative act is fundamentally at odds with how P presents its own theory of sacrifice. Not that there isn’t a literal scapegoat in P, but it’s the one sacrifice that isn’t killed.
