Today I met with Kostas Gienidounnias, the president of the Panhellenic Trade Union of Train Drivers who has been fired from his job for speaking up and witnessing about those bearing responsibility for the Tempi accident.

Spoke at EU_OHSA ”Healthy Workplaces Good Practice Exchange” about prioritizes of EMPL regarding workers health and safety in this mandate. We need solutions to the new challenges posed by AI and technological development as well as climate change and extreme weather.

In addition, the question for the left is how we can put pressure on securing labor rights, fighting corruption, strengthening civil society, and at the same time push back against the neoliberal reforms. That’s the solidarity that Ukraine needs. 5/

In my introduction I made three points: 1) Trump and Putin form one of the most dangerous allies in world politics for a long time. The US has already publicly weakened Ukraine's negotiating position and Trump is pushing Ukraine into negotiations to make himself a peacemaker. 2/

An event we have been preparing for a long time on Ukrainian civil society and reconstruction took place yesterday in the parliament. The Ukrainian left is working hard in the midst of Russian aggression for a more just Ukraine and their voices need to be heard. 1/

Turun vasemmistoliitto käynnisti tänään uutta jalkautuvaa kampanjointia kiertämällä ovelta ovelle Halisissa samaan tapaan kuin esim Saksassa on tehty. On tärkeää tuoda politiikka ihmisten luo, eikä odoteta ihmisten hakeutuvan politiikan luokse.

Olin tänään Yle-aamussa puhumassa eilisen Eurooppa-neuvoston päätöksistä Eero Heinäluoman ja Mika Aaltolan kanssa. Käsillä olevan kokonaisuudessa tavoitteena tulee olla vähentää Euroopan riippuvuutta Yhdysvalloista laajasti niin puolustuksen, digitalouden kuin energian osalta. 1/
