Had a great session with the Engaged Research Exchange last week

We’re lucky to have such a brilliant Public Engagement Team at University of Leeds who we can tap into.

Great opportunity to meet other engagement methodologists

Naga Munchetty spoke about gendered healthcare and challenges in getting treatment and diagnosis of
adenomyosis at UoL on Wednesday:

"When I attended the G.P. and was asked about my pain level. I'd say 6/10. I was passing out normalising my pain."

Fair to say I will buying Naga's book!

First Friday of the New Year

Trying to find ways to think of things from different angles and perspectives?

Me too, although quite literally in this chilly walk on Crosby beach I took over the Christmas break.

Working in healthcare and literature, it’s always fascinating to see a writer using narrative to explore illness. I spend a lot of my time reading this kind of thing for pleasure

I’m particularly interested in how Hattrick in particular uses narrative around her own experience and archival material

I’ve been reading these two novels this week while out and about…the passage is from Natalia Ginzburg’s FAMILY LEXICON…where do I go next with Ginzburg - particular interested if she wrote more non-fiction.

I love watching Sean trying to talk about art and writing in the chaos around him in Magee

🎄Friða Ísberg tells me about some of the fun in Iceland in the run-up to Christmas
