Street art started as a taboo subject of defacement and vandalism. In recent decades, though, it's broken into popular culture as a way of expression and culture. The PNW is a prime example of this, as places like Seattle went from fighting it to funding it.

I recently spoke with designer and muralist, Shogo Ota, for an upcoming article on street art in the PNW. His work is incredible and he had some great stuff to say about the topic. Just wanted to share a quote from him that I loved!
