🇧🇷 Biologist, NatGeo Explorer 18', now based in London injecting $ back into the Amazon region. Birding is life! Views are my own.
Last week I had a couple of days in São Paulo before heading to Belem for COP30 and managed to donate old issues of @neobirdconserve.bsky.social magazines to Instituto Anchieta Grajaú and Ornitomulheres, the Brazilian Female Ornithologists Network. Glad these will not end up in the recycling bin!

What a fun and inspiring day @nhm.org , Avian Odyssey! Thrilled in learning about so many interesting and important work done for the birds all over the world 🌍🌎🌏

I hope the manakins have won people’s hearts and that everyone book their next birding trip to the Neotropics to see them!!

What an honour to share the stage with so many inspiring colleagues at the coolest venue in London - the NHM!!

Can’t wait to flood the audience with interesting stuff about one of my favourite bird families - Neotropical Manakins 🤩

Happy Friday with a beautiful Okinawa Robin (Larvivora namiyei) lurking in the shades of Kunigami forest🌳that I found during my trip to Japan earlier this year ✨ Endemic to Okinawa, and quite elusive, it was such a treat to see it!

I am late, but need to record the top 3 highlights of this year’s #globalbirdfair:

1. Axel’s Sounding Wild brilliant immersive sound platform.10/10 recommend it!!
2. The Turnstone author’s tent
3. Giving a talk on Eastern Amazonian birds feeling like in the Amazon - it was 🔥

It’s coming up ✨ excited to show a glimpse of the Eastern Amazon birds!
I've got the date right this time. If you are coming to @globalbirdfair.bsky.social please drop in on Lia's talk. Might tempt a few people to visit Brazil I suspect.
