Got a kayak and took it out on lake washinton. Had a great time but definitely havent developed the strength to go far yet. Hopefully will be able to do some kayak exclusive camping next summer!

Another couple watercolors.
Abbreviated the fort a little bit. Trees aren't perfect but i dont hate them. The arches paper (on the left) is really nice for doing wet-on-wet skies, you can actually rework it a bit.

A couple tries at a tree silhouette and sky sort of thing. Might keep revisiting this, good practice for branches, can finish in a single session, and a lot of room to improve and refine the style.

Climbed to camp Muir today, the highest point on Rainier before it gets technical, lots of fun lil guide huts and tents. Brought crampons but microspikes would have been fine, was a touch less steep than St Helens. The wildflowers are really beautiful this time of year.

Climbed the summer route of St Helens today, did the winter one before. It's slightly shorter, but it wasn't snowed over, so I didn't need crampons, which made the ascent a bit nicer. Scree was bad in spots though. Was able to get the benefit of a glissade down, so maybe now is about the ideal time.

New Mexico, kinda trying out a few things. Light foliage in the foreground over a darker background is something that I still need to figure out, would be much better if it wisped over more, but the medium doesn't make it easy. Could use gouache but that has such a different look.

Did granite mountain today! Its such a joy to spend time in the deeper trails once you get past mason lake.

Stopped by Rainier yesterday. Really cool, you see so much more up close. Probably gonna climb to Muir soon, get a real close look.

Some plein air sketches from Santa Fe. Definitely not as good as my home sketches, but given the time limits and restrictions I had I don't completely hate then.

A few creatures I've seen in New Mexico
From a photo of Kamikochi, I'm still working on figuring out distant forested areas and rocks. A few things kinda worked but the foilage has some issues. Hopefully visiting some museums will give me some ideas!
