It's strange. I completely agree with this, yet I am planning to spend a week this summer in a beach hotel that I don't *intend* to leave. But somehow, the knowledge that I *can leave* is very important to my ability to relax into the holiday.
Cruises where the whole experience is just huge amounts of alcohol and various party decks and the destination is just a private beach in another country sound like a deep personal hell
