Survived day 3 of the new school year, but today was a migraine day, so it hasn't been awesome...however, I have a new sticker for my work water bottle, and that makes me happy.
A sticker that reads "Cozy Cryptids Book Club VIP Member". There are very cute versions of Mothman, an alien, and a Sasquatch all reading books. I so want to truly join this group!!

Today is the 80th anniversary of when the A-Bomb fell on Hiroshima, and I had the privilege to visit the Peace Museum and Memorial when I was on my recent trip to Japan. Lots of emotions that day, and I had been struggling to think of when to post pictures; today is a good day #Tripsamongfriends

Dad just went back for his back surgery...there's a tank of fish in the waiting room that includes both a jellyfish and this cool sea anemone. These are better photos than of the waiting room, etc. Dad's surgery is supposed to take between 6 & 8 hours. #surgery #sealife
A blue spotted jellyfish that is just chilling in the tank. It spins/rotates but doesn't seem to want to move from that spot. A bright lime green sea anemone with peach ball nubs on the ends of its stalks. It's very chill in its corner and overshadows the other dark blue on farther in.

One positive to being home again is that Gizmo has been out and about a bunch and is curious and snuggly. So many positives!
Gizmo, a grey tabby, is sniffing at my toast. He's unsure of if he wants it or not and is taking his sweet time deciding.

The deck is my happy place, so of course I grabbed a cup of coffee and headed outside fairly soon after I arrived home. The photo has a mug in the foreground that reads "Sip slow and carry on". On our last day in Japan for the #BestofSummer25 trip, we wandered over to Jimbochu (Book Street) to browse and smell books. We even bought a few gems including a copy of 1984 and the manga series Rough #travelamongfriends #bookstores
Me in a happy state as I was surrounded by books of all shapes, sizes, and genres Hahaha! I was able to find and snag a copy of 1984 from one of the sale book tables out front. Maybe someday I'll be able to read this one *fingers crossed* I couldn't help but take a photo of the wall of books for sale outside this bookstore. Reminds me of Wonder Book! At the end of the street, we found a little shop that served various pork cutlets. This was mine and it was sooo good and juicy! Also, the "regular" size was definitely big enough for me.

What to do on an 80 minute ride on the shinkasen? Doodle & brain-spew into a new notebook (finally found one on this trip!) and drink a latte. Very basic. #BestofJapan25

On our free day, we went to a nearby zoo. It reminded me of the Como Zoo 💜💯 We saw lots of animals including giraffes. #zoo #BestofJapan25

Today was one of the best days I've had in...awhile. Not because it was the most exciting nor the most interesting, but I actually feel content/happy at the end of the day. I also think I laughed more today then I have in a long time. #BestofJapan25 #genuinelyhappy

A very delicious latte from LiLo Coffee in Osaka (reminded me of working at Java Jungle...so much love) Pictured is a latte in a white ceramic mug. The foam on top has been artistically stenciled into a seahorse. Another angle of the white ceramic mug with the lettering: Life is Short. Surround yours with good people and only drink good coffee. Definitely words to live by...I was tempted to buy this mug Pictured: Me with a large, genuine grin on my face as I'm holding up both a octopus fried hotdog on a stick and a fried Oreo on a stick. I'm really annoyed as I didn't realize IKEA has resigned it's Billy bookcases, so when we bought a new one to go with our existing ones, I was not happily surprised to see the differences: color, height, shelf placements. 👎💯📚

Today is National Read a Book Day!
One of my favorite days!
I read my favorite (most memorable) children's book to my classes today: Jillian Jiggs by Phoebe Gilman. I think it also helped explain why I am the way I am 😹
