Good night!
First off, I’d like to apologize for disappearing so suddenly. I was in the middle of a really bad mental health episode, and getting off of social media seemed like a really good way to go about resolving it. Later on, when I realized that I had abandoned a lot of friends and acquaintances that I had made on Bluesky, I felt to ashamed and embarrassed to try and make amends. Until now, anyways. I know that I was far from a celebrity or even a semi-prominent figure on this site, but I still felt like I owed it to you all to come back one last time. To put it bluntly, my brain isn’t built to handle social media. It just isn’t. I kept telling myself that I could push through the negative and only engage with the positive, but that’s unfortunately not the case. Social media, for me, has consistently been a gateway to doomscrolling, overexposure to horrific news headlines, and worsening mental health. For every cool art piece or webcomic or meme, there are seemingly thousands of posts about war, immigration raids, the loss of human rights, people in dire financial straits, and so on. The good simply doesn’t outweigh the bad for me. Bearing witness to so much tragedy while not being able to do anything about most of it has left me feeling helpless, hopeless, and broken. For the sake of my own sanity, I have to turn away from the news and engage with lighter, more hopeful content. I recognize that being able to ignore much of the chaos and cruelty in the world could make me come off as privileged and uncaring. And you are certainly allowed to make that call about me. I won’t stop you. But as a brown-skinned immigrant in present-day America who comes from a Spanish-speaking family, I know all too well what it is to fear for your safety or the safety of your loved ones. And seeing people who look like me get discriminated against, assaulted, and abducted on a near-daily basis is not something that I need in my life. Additionally, I plan on deleting this account in the near future. I said and reposted a lot of things that I wish that I hadn’t. Nothing offensive or otherwise explicit, but just things that I don’t want associated with me anymore, especially when they relate to politics. If you wish to stay in contact with me, I highly recommend following me on Unvale. It’s a site where you can post art and stories about your original characters, and I plan on posting information about my upcoming fantasy-adventure novel there as time goes on. This is a selfish desire of mine, but I really hope to see more of my favorite creators there someday. I feel like it has a lot of potential as a site for artists, writers, and world-builders to mingle and share their ideas and creations. That’s all for now. Again, I’m sorry for vanishing like I did. I’ve had some amazing experiences on social media, but I need to make some serious changes in my life if I want to keep my head above water. I wish you all well.

My head hurts. I was in a bar a while ago and the music was way too loud. It’s a small place at the edge of town called “The Captain’s Quarters”. I hate it, but Dad would love it. Dad didn’t love anything. That’s why he’s gone. SCREW YOU SHUT UP I don’t know why I went there. I just did what I always do. I stick my nose where it doesn’t belong and act like it means something. The thing about booze is that it gets people talking like nothing else. All anyone did in there was drink and talk. One character was talking about a friend who may have come across something big, but he couldn’t say more because it could get him arrested. How tragic. I cozied up to him. I got a few more drinks in him before taking him behind the place and getting what I needed from him. Shit, I hate the feeling of blood on my hands. I couldn’t stop washing them. He’s alive, though. Lucky him. I have a name and a location. She must be pretty sloppy if she trusts dumbass drunkards with this kind of info. I’m heading her way in the morning and seeing what I can do. I’m already tired. Please. Please let this one count for something. I don’t know if I can do this again. The magic in me ebbs and flows. I’m nowhere near as strong as I used to be and it’s all my fault. - D The teenager looked out of his window as the airship rose in the air and began its voyage to Avantius’ capital. In only a few minutes, his father’s town was little more than a funny-looking dot against the base of the Raher Mountain Range’s western side. Ladera was a beloved spot for those interested in hiking and exploring. Beyond that, though, it was absolutely ordinary, and lacked traits such as the grandiosity of Kasatra, or the scenic beauty of the coastal city of Bovesi. Still, it did have its charms, perhaps because it was so humble. Belu figured that that was why his father liked it so much. Belu continued to look out over the grand expanse of the Draco Isle continent as the airship continued rising and began turning slightly east. He could see the lake at the northwest end of the Raher. He could watch the wind rolling over the Draco Isle Plains. If he squinted, Belu thought that he could almost make out the peak of one of the buildings in Santura Town, the home of most of the country’s Dumago population. Belu hated having to constantly travel between his parents' homes, but he did enjoy the ability to get a view of Avantius' beauty from the comfort of an airship. He only wished that he had more of an opportunity to get a look at the Cloud Sea. All of the planet’s landmasses were situated on an ocean made of clouds, which in turn was believed to be high above the planet’s center. No one really knew what lay below the Cloud Sea, as any and all attempts to dive through it and reach the bottom failed for one reason or another. Fortunately, after some back-and-forth between the two newbie rangers and the chief, Belu and Rinea agreed to hear her out. And that was how they ended up at the local Lazy Bean Coffee House, one of many such establishments found throughout the Commonwealth and perhaps beyond. Reba had ordered a large-sized beef-and-cheese toasted sandwich and a mixed-fruit smoothie, while each of her companions had ordered a simple muffin-coffee combo. The building was full of customers and fairly lively, but for Reba, the energy at her table felt stagnant and cold, despite the warmth of her lunch. Okay, she told herself while taking a drawn-out sip of her drink. The hard part’s done. You got them to sit down with you. Now, just say something normal, yet attention-grabbing. Like a solid opening to a good book. “Your mom’s really cool, Belu.” I wonder if the knives here are sharp enough to slit my wrists with. “I wish that you’d talk more, Belu.” He sighed, fully aware of what he was in for. “I know. I want to. Really, but… I mean, sometimes, there just isn’t anything for me to add. You’re the smart one of the group, and Reba has enough personality for both of us.” Rinea grinned at that, which made Belu feel a little better. “I don’t feel like being a leader, Rinea,” he continued. “I don’t like adding my opinion where I don’t feel it’s needed. The last thing that I want to do is cause drama.” “None of this was drama, Belu,” Rinea said softly, putting her hand on his shoulder. “It was a conversation. A conversation between friends. No one was arguing or yelling or anything like that.” Belu swallowed and licked his lips. His throat was starting to feel dry. “I know. I just don’t want to be the one who gets us to that point. I can’t stand fighting like that.” Rinea frowned and gently tightened her grip on Belu’s shoulder. “I know.”

I’m so excited to see the new Sonja movie when it comes out, especially now that I know that you have a credit on it. I also enjoyed the animated Queen of Plagues adaptation. I’m glad that I was finally able to put voices to some of the characters from the story.
