Which... is just true. Yes slavefic is just nondiegetic bdsm but it absolutely says something that a *very specific* iteration of those dynamics (the one that just happens to be most normative) gets to be bankrolled with millions to eventually feed back into the profit machine.

I mean, they call it "hardly unique" in the very same sentence and then go on to argue that the real problem is not the taboo content itself but that it's only a very specific (white & matching traditional gender roles) version of power differences that is fed into the mainstream by big coporations.

so the fandom either being like SUSELLE CANON WE WON or copium denial for why it totally doesn't make sense for suselle to be canon because it's *too* obvious and toby is some kind of ultra-plottwist 'suprise above all else' writer who's never foreshadowed anything in his life... Is kinda alienating

As a big Suselle shipper whether or not they kiss in canon is actually not that important to me 😭 They're still going to be foils, still the symbols of future and past, change vs nostalgia. (Also, again, basically canon already, I don't need it to be "undeniable" or whatever.)
