#OnThisDay 1999, a neo-Nazi nail bombed the Admiral Duncan pub in Soho deliberately targeted London's LGBT community. The explosion killed Andrea Dykes, John Light, and Nik Moore, and injured over 70 more. Today, we honour their memory, and stand united against hate, always.

In 1976, religious conservative Mary Whitehouse launched a blasphemy case against Gay News.

It was the last successful blasphemy trial in the UK.

She blamed an 'intellectual, homosexual, and humanist lobby' for the backlash. There was no lobby – but we liked the idea.

And LGBT Humanists was born.
