Thank you for this thread. I have friends and family in the LGBTQ+ community and it’s painful to see them struggle and extremely frustrating hearing others express opinions based on disinformation instead of choosing empathy and seeking understanding.

This is unacceptable and unpresidential! Yes, the media should be pointing this out as we know they would if the political situation were reversed.

This is so well said. Thank you for sharing. I believe we are all guilty of approaching things with preconceived ideas. What’s most important is the ability to recognize when it is wrong and change our perceptions. This is something every American needs to hear and do, in these times especially.

Yes, I understand, and in my community, I have witnessed firsthand how some of these individuals have touched lives in different ways and taught kindness, compassion and patience, and often brought joy to so many in their own incredibly special way.
