Owned by a cat. A European. Relieved that adults are running the country. Event management nerd/lecturer.
Look at this Prince of a cat enjoying a lovely heated blanket. He’s had such a tiring day of sleeping!

This is a great job, good money. There’s discussion among my colleagues in #ManMetEvents, because if you ask a young person in class about current affairs 95% will say they don’t follow the news: it’s depressing. Job ads like this show the value to be had professionally though. Work to be done!!
We’re recruiting a More in Common UK Events & Operations associate to manage our programme of webinars, research presentations & party conference events, as well as supporting project management across our work. If it sounds like it’s for you apply here! t.co/vmdr73V3dA

If on that other place, twit or tweeter is to Twitter, does that make Skyvers be to BlueSky? And is one therefore Skyved?

It’s a great point! Events should embrace sustainability any way they can, and encouraging use of public transport and actively seeking venues with good public transport access is a really easy win.
I am once again asking why an email about a business event in a town centre needs detailed parking info without mentioning any other transport modes. It's a five-minute walk from a major train station and literally a lift ride away from one of the best-served bus stations in the country.

I’ve just had a brilliant day at #festwich in Manchester. We, as a couple that enjoy aspects of metal music and a new teen at her first fest, loved it. But much for the Festwich team to improve on:

Am I the only one with elder cat guardian fears?…I walk in the room and he’s flopped down like this and for a moment I’m terrified it’s the end so I check he’s still breathing and I can see his little chest going up and down and so I know he lives to shout at me another day.

When popular culture influences event trends.

I’m planning a gala dinner at the moment where the Manchester Song Book will be translated into a classical style. Think Blue Monday by New Order on a string quartet.

Bring together activism and music events and you get Love Music Hate Racism. Events do positive things! Think of the person, potentially on the periphery of far right thinking, that might be brought into a more tolerant space with encouragement from performers they admire.

Lads!! Anyone else? My OH discovered that in this years equality olympics it was possible to select males as participants for artistic/synchro swimming (www.cbc.ca/amp/1.7267426). Not a single male entered. OH is gutted!
Men can compete in Olympic artistic swimming for the 1st time. But none made the cut
