It might not make you all quite as jubilant, but this news made my heart jump this week: in April 2026 Simone de Beauvoir’s The Second Sex will be published in the prestigious Bibliothèque de la Pléiade collection—a significant recognition of the work & of feminist philosophy in the cultural canon!

I wrote about a rare genetic variant (a CNV) that appears to reduce the risk of schizophrenia diagnosis by ~5x, and why that's not as unambigously amazing as it sounds, but potentially still a pretty big deal.

In 1906, as he was finishing his treatment of Miss Beauchamp, Prince founded the Journal of Abnormal Psy, which runs to this day, and which featured a good many cases of multiplicity.

I'm not sure how to see trend data, but Nim still has more presence on GitHub than Zig.
Nim's syntax just looks like a less serious language. It really gives me Lua vibes. Not sure if that's played into whether people try it or not.
