I guess it all depends on perspective. I was robbed of my fertility by cancer+medical gaslighting, but don’t always want to explain that in casual conversation. Saying “child-free” is less traumatizing to me. I also dote on my nephew, my friends’ kids, and my students so I am invested in kids’ lives

I guess impo you might be making it a bigger deal than it is? We might have bigger fish to fry than word choice atm

I have a dog free household because I know I don’t have the temperament and time to properly train and take care of one. That doesn’t mean that I don’t love and interact with my friends’ and families’ dogs, or that I’m not horrified when I hear of dogs being abused or neglected…
