I just replaced the part that I think is broken, and that took 2 min tops. The other TWO HOURS was un-installing and then re-installing the dishwasher.

Now I'm sitting in the kitchen as it runs because I'm convinced it's going to flood the place, explode, or set the house on fire.

I had a similar issue with our washer a few weeks ago (the water level sensor was malfunctioning) and the experience was much more challenging.

Agreed, my last save was from July '24 before the release update dropped. Playing every chance I get - SO GOOD.
