if they cave on this, 50,000 people die unnecessarily from the ACA cuts. it's gross but imo i think they should stick it out as long as is humanly possible, or until the right caves. working people get hurt either way. it's genuinely depressing and cruel and awful. there are no winners here.

also: there's no guarantee the ACA vote will actually happen in december. what proof does anyone have that the republicans won't go back on their word? it's a weird capitulation and way too risky.

it's less about the individual action and more about the pattern of spinelessness. republicans are gonna come for SNAP and the ACA anyway. they already cut medicaid. the shutdown just accelerates the fights and seeing the democrats cave on the ONE thing they said they were fighting for is maddening
