Is it bad that I already do? Sure, politically this year was a nightmare, but a lot of cool media came out and I had a lot of good personal moments of growth.

I feel bad for them because I feel the same somedays, but your own apathy is not reason to disregard the pain of others. In fact, if you recognize how painful your life, then you should be able to easily empathize with the pain of others. Death is nearly always painful, even when it's desired.

I do find it disturbing how many vegans don't seem to have compassion for humans or hold hatred for humanity. Humans are just another animal and can be just as irrational. Rejecting speciesism means recognizing just how fallible humanity is too.
