HEY FOLKS!

Now I am back from Japan I wanted to do a proper *I'M LOOKING FOR WORK* post.

Reviews, previews, features, podcasts, on-camera stuff, online, in print... I can do it all! And have been doing it all for like six years!

If you have a beat on any opportunities, please let me know.
Apparently, Keighley doesn't have time to reply to @alyssamerc.bsky.social's request for comment, but he sure does have time to post about his latest business deal surrounding the awards on LinkedIn.

There are a lot of little things that drive me nuts about being stuck on a Squarespace with startmenu, but my biggest pet peeve is that the author dropdown is in a totally random order and not alphabetical... especially considering there are over 200 writers in our backend now.

Absolutely amazing review piece by Lex! It made me quite interested in a game I had little desire to play until reading the review

I went to meet the 'Rockstar 31', the developers who were suddenly fired from their work on GTA 6 for what the studio has described as gross misconduct.

That's not what the workers call it though. They have another couple of words they prefer to use: union busting.

Lumines Arise is my first Lumines game so I'm still pretty terrible at it but man, if it isn't a treat to play. It's become my nightly ritual.

Check out our review below:
Lumines Arise is the kind of game that I won’t delete from my hard drive because I will always want the option to lose myself to the game periodically, which Arise is consistently excellent at.

it's hard to actually convey what it feels like to play lumines arise, especially during the moments where each of its elements, both internal and external, come together. but i gave it a try anyway. my review for gamespot:

Lumines Arise Review - Sensorial Triumph
The concept of Tetris Effect is iterated on with confidence, paired with a singular use of technology that seeks to evoke emotion at every turn.

A lot of my review is dedicated to the describing Lumines' ingenious difficultly (wavy) curve and beauty of the game's "Saviour Mechanics" that allow you to get yourself out of hole and create incredible "AH HA!" moments, but I think they can be best summed up with this clip.

There's a few design choices in Borderlands 4 that I really can't wrap my head around, but at the top of the list is why did they replace the mini-map from 1/2/3 with a way less detailed compass, that is so ineffectual they had to add a racing lane from the player to their objective shortcut button?

Listen, I know the bar isn't exactly high in a lot of ways, but it's kinda nuts that Dan Trachtenberg managed to make 3 of the 4 best Predator movies in less than 5 years.

I ordered that NSO N64 controller, and the courier delivered it to my neighbour, my neighbour told them they had the wrong address, and the courier just took it away and didn't deliver it.

The universe feels like it's sending me a pretty loud message right now.

I know that a lot of CRT filters in games have gotten really good, and hell, I bought a RetroTink and own a CRT TV myself, but I kinda think growing up on flatscreen emulation of these games has broken my brain because sometimes I am like, "Just gimme those raw-ass pixels."
