the gap has applied to register CASHSOFT as a trademark for clothing

but the clothing isn’t made of cashmere. deceptive mark? 🧐

seems like a misdescription consumers would believe & one that’s material to the purchasing decision.

the "buy nothing project" has a trademark registration (actually 6) for BUY NOTHING & persuaded facebook to kill some of the 1,000s of community groups all over the country through which people give away stuff they don't need & get local stuff free

every place your kid goes is out here asking for an irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, royalty free, unrestricted right to use your kid's right of publicity for any purpose in the world & expecting you to waive all their rights to enable them to attend one (1) 90-minute birthday party

having an 8 year old is so much like having a jealous boyfriend sometimes

(I was not at a party unless mooting two students’ oral arguments to help them prepare for a competition is what you call a party)

i've seen a lot of headlines about trademark infringement claims but putting 'trademark' in scare quotes is a first for me

(if you thought the trademark was "trademark"--nope, it's SABZI)

uhhh gen z has some interesting ideas about "trust"

"gen Z often trusts creators more than corporations, so the idea of banking w/ their fav isn’t far-fetched. with his massive budget videos, they might feel [mrbeast] is actually more trustworthy than traditional institutions"

total administrations of the test in the past decade have risen from 102k (2014-2015) to 173k (2024-2025)

my post got a lot of engagement & 90% of it was people quote-tweeting with the words "recession indicator!" (like...400 ppl)

which, yes. but i wanted to correct the record

good morning! saturday i posted an image from harper's magazine that said people who registered to take the LSAT in september 2024 vs. september 2025 went from 18,811 to 32,170, citing LSAC

the actual LSAC numbers are 18,811 to 23,593--a substantial uptick but far less crazy
October 20, 2025 at 11:53 AM
update: several people have shared data from LSAC that suggests the first image is incorrect—apologies for trusting harper’s without fact-checking
